Our customer

Based in Yorkshire, this multi-national business were experiencing demand beyond their production capacity.

The brief

Work with the production team to adapt their manufacturing process to increase capacity – rather than have to develop a new facility costing hundreds of thousands of pounds.

How did we do?

On our advice the client changed the build material of key parts of the production line (from graphite to carbon-fibre-composite ie CFC) the manufacturing capacity of the line was increased by 30%. This was due to the fact that CFC is significantly lighter than graphite but has the same critical heat-resistant characteristics.

Initially the resultant CFC order was split between us and a competitor – but consequently we won the full order after unfortunate product failure by the other party.
